I know I don’t typically do “song lessons,” but this one is a great demonstration of a simple idea in the solo that gets repeated with great effect.

And, of course, we’ll go over some of the other sections as well to be complete 🙂

Hey Griff: Another great, quick learning experiance! BG has so many licks in his gig bag, its hard to select
{ For me anyway} ONE FAVORATE! La Grange stands out in my mind. Theres so much to learn about Billys playing and his use of the LOOPING system. The entire songs rytham is looped, with Billy playing Awesome lead work throughout the tune. I use a BOSS RC-5 Loop station. Makes my playing after practicing Griffs lessons……..{COUNTING, COUNTING, COUNTING Ha!} sound so much better.
Thanks Griff….BTW: I forward all your lessons to Roystoybox@gmail.com…… He’s Hooked!
He just purchased a Gold Top Les Paul. Keep Rockin!
Another BTW,…Treetop Flyer….Stephan Stills ….Finger Pickin afficiando!, Great Song!!

A little chorus on that intro and you nail it.

      Tabs please.

      Yes, we need the tabs!

      Griff,

Appreciate the ZZ Top demo. Really liked your comment at the end re: tabs. Learning to use your ear and trusting the sound has led me to much faster progress.

Using the tabs and jam tracks from the Classic Rock Unleashed course are great for practice structure and skills improvement.

I liked the demonstration. But I find it hard to follow. Can you post the tab for this song. Sounds really great

Very cool. Amazing how much a lot of it follows a John Lennon song. Wonder where John got it from?

    • Sue Latham
