Back in October, my friend Bob Murnahan and I did a live clinic here in So. Cal. Here’s a clip of us jamming for a while during that show. Check out Mr. Spunk burning it up at about 7:20 in… you never knew he had it in him ๐Ÿ™‚

I listened to Clapton crossroads 2010 last night he had nothing on you all!!!! Great piece.

    • Rodney E. Willis

Good guitar playing—you can show your skill and speed—but too jazzy for me. I prefer the Delta Blues—Robert Johnson, Son House, Ledbelly, Lightening Hopkins, Brownie and Sunny, Blind Lemon, T-bone, Buka, John Hurt, et al.

I’ve always loved the blues but was never able to play it. Too old now (77) and fingers are stiff. Hardly ever pick up my J-50 Gibson anymore, and then only to strum.

I sang in highschool, the Marine Corps, and at FSU in 1956. A fellow named Chic Thompson notice me on freshmen talent night at FSU in Sep56 and signed me to a recording contract. Cut a record at the Owen Bradley studio—a song called “Somebody’s Been Rocking My Baby” with “Old Man Mose” on the flip side. Hank Garland and the Anita Kerr singers were leading the session. I was trying to cash in on the rock and roll craze but it never happened. Sold enough records—Detroit, Buffalo and Hartford to cover our costs. Then went back to school and finished my BA degree in Business. Bought 80 acres 8 miles from the steps of the Florida Capitol, rased 5 kids,19 grandkids and one great grand kid. Lots of baby-sitting now but it’s been and is a good life. My only regret is never learning to play the blues.

Happy Day and Semper Fi, rw

what amplification, effects set ups do you guys have? What brand guitars are those? That’s the kind of
music I like to listen to and am trying to play. I’m pratcising with the online vids when I have a chance,
( work shift work) don’t have a whole lot of time. I use some of the blues chords with my gospel music too.

Both guitars were good but the guy on the left has a real voice to his playing. Very supportive drummer too. That was not a bad way at all to spend a random 8 minutes.

Your BBG course has made be a better player in such a short period of time. I realize there is so much to learn, but I canโ€™t actually believe the stuff I am playing now.

I think anyone that is serious about blues guitar at any level could learn an awful lot from your courses

Griff it has always been my pleasure to here good music and you guys were tight on that occassion, sorry I missed the one Nov. 14th, prior enguagement. The offer remains open, if you want to try out one of the 50 or so, let me know. I COULD USE SOME FEEDBACK ON SOME OF THESE TELE COMBINATIONS I’M work n on, or you can play the guitar hero’s guitar, Marc signed the front for me, and those two custom Taylors would be my best guess. I got THE EDGE’S 76 Exploader, and a few other artists guitars, when can I have one of yours? lol You take care my friend, wishing you and yours a very merry christmas and a happy new year.
