One of the most critical skills on a guitar is executing “slurs,” which take the forms of “hammer-ons” or “pull-offs,” depending on which way you’re going (ascending or descending.)

So today let’s master the hammer-on and make sure it’s involved with your blues licks, and even your rhythm playing.

Good morning, my name is Luigi. I’d like to buy the ‘Beginning Blues Guitar’ course, but unfortunately I find it difficult to understand spoken English. I get on better with written English. In the videos, I use YouTube’s translation feature to help me. Is there a translation option in your videos, like on YouTube? Thank you. Best regards

I find my pinky finger is pretty hopeless for hammering on and pulling off. Been trying for a while but it’s a weak sound. Any suggestions Griff other than give up?

I was terrible at pulloffs, getting any sound and keeping them in time. Then I slowed down, focused on the action of the pulloff and counted out loud. Just do what Griff does and say what Griff says and things will work out. It’s amazing what can happen when you follow the insruction of someone you’re paying to learn from. Woulda thunk?
