Another brick in the wall part 2 ! Brilliant break down. I’ve been trying to master that lick for years usually unsuccessfully. The same old reason I’m hopeless at timing playing & counting is my nemesis. Instantly recognisable when played correctly. I’m 70 now played since I was 15, probably purchased most of Griffs courses & thoroughly enjoy them, my playing has improved accordingly but counting & playing eluded me nil desperandum
Some years ago with the help of a guitar instructor I studied Gilmour’s playing. Note for note, stretch for stretch I have always been amazed at his technique. I have often said, Gilmour has more taste in one phrase than most guitarists do in an entire lead. It remains true to this day.
I’ve not found his soloing itself difficult, it’s the 2 or 3 note bends that are the issue.
