I often get requests for more “major blues” licks, and this is a good one from Clapton’s performance of “Crossroads,” with Cream…

In particular, this shows using the somewhat standard Box 2 pattern for the scale, but also adds in a note from the minor blues scale, which happens a lot as well.

So check this video out, there’s a lot of good stuff in here about the lick, itself, and especially ways to practice it.

      I’ve been working on Crossroads here and there ever since I started playing again after a 40 plus year layoff. A little over a year ago my wife had my good friend Dean Zelinsky make me a custom guitar. I’m really inspired to play again.
