Last weekend was my annual Blues Guitar Unleashed Live event for 2014. And now that it is all wrapped up, I have a bunch of great photos and a video clip from the day.

We had 46 show up this year (I cap it at 45 but usually one or 2 extra slip through) and from as far away as Canada and the UK… and even Maine!

To say that this has turned into a family reunion would be an understatement… and it just goes to show you how close of a group the BGU community has become. I don’t think any of us expected it to grow so large and stay so close, but I’m thankful every day for every member and this event is the best chance I get to show them the time of their lives!

Also a HUGE “Thanks” and shout-out to all the vendors who came down and showed their stuff at the Gear Playground:

The next time I learn a weblog, I hope that it doesnt disappoint me as much as this one. I imply, I know it was my option to learn, however I truly thought youd have one thing attention-grabbing to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about something that you may repair should you werent too busy looking for attention.

It’s very straightforward to find out any matter on web as compared to books, as I found this article at this web site.

      Griff,
You always look like you are having SO MUCH FUN when you play and I love the interaction you have with Laura. You are SO fortunate to have been a musician all of your working life. I had a garage band from 1966 thru 1968, aptly named for the era “The Aeons of Tyme” – go ahead and snicker. We played the “top 40” of the day but along came a Yoko and I lost interest in the band; however, that Yoko (actually named Kristen) became my wife after several years of dating. We married in 1973 and 41 years later I would not change a thing (BIG GRIN). My 64th birthday back in March was great as my gift from her was the BGU course. It’s more fun now than playing Louie Louie, Gloria, 96 Tears and many other three chord pop songs of the day (hmm, 96 Tears only has two chords).

You guys look more like a family and the one that everyone would love to have. A pleasure for the eyes. Thank you for the material and warmest wishes to all.

That was an amazing rendition of “Red House”, even three months after the fact. What a great show! It was fun to watch it again, even though I saw the show “Live”.

Three months later and that is still an amazing rendition of “Red House”. Wow! I’m so much better since I got involved with BGU. Thanks everyone!

This event always looks so much fun and it seems to be getting bigger and bigger each year. I know it’s a huge amount of work to put on something like that so even though I will probably never be able to get to one I appreciate all the effort you guys put in to make it available for us all. I look forward to seeing the photographs and videos every year.

This has become my “annual” event…I’ve been lucky enough to have been to all of Griff’s BGU Live events. Most people won’t understand the family reunion reference until they get there…Let’s just say it’s the second greatest family I have…later.

I couldn’t agree more with the comments above. The BGU ‘family” has been the best thing for my guitar playing ever! The lessons from Griff, the support of the forum, and everything else that goes with it are what make it special. It was great to see everyone I met last year and to meet the new folks. 4 days of Blues Guitar & peace, better than Woodstock.

Without a doubt, BGU Live is one of the highlights of my year. I would have never even thought of trying to get up on stage and play with others, but thanks to Griff and his Beginning Blues Guitar and Blues Guitar Unleashed courses I now have the confidence to play my guitar and know that it will sound like music.

As always, it was a fantastic time seeing old friends and meeting new ones, jamming with some great musicians and just having a great time. thanks Griff and Laura and the band for making my dreams come true every time I attend BGU Live.

BGU live was another great event. Griff, Laura, Chis, Mark, Ty and all my BGU brothers and sisters, was great seeing you all. Thank you all for your efforts, both on and off the stage.

Another one in the books and look forward to seeing you all in the future.

What an amazing weekend we all had at BGU Live 2014! Everyone has gotten better over the past 4 years, but this year was a real leap forward. Not only for those of us returning year after year, but even the new people this year seem to have come to the group with more talent than many of us had 4 years ago.
In that first year, there were more clunker notes than we had a right to play, but Griff and the band were amazing, gracious and supportive. Griff did most of the singing for each of the jam groups (With just a few exceptions).
This year, he has turned us all into hams. He didn’t have to sing for a single group. He, the band and my great BGU Member friends made everyone feel like they could do no wrong.

If you have yet to pick up one of Griff’s courses, DO IT! you will be amazed at the progress that you can make. If you already have a course, but haven’t been to a BGU Live event, you just have to experience it to believe it.

Thank you Griff, Laura (particularly Laura) and the rest of the amazing band for turning us all into a family.
