A lot of times, simply moving your lick from one box to another of the pentatonic scale opens up a lot of ideas…
In this video, we’ll discuss how to make the move, what it usually looks like, and how to take it further and incorporate it into your soloing. I’m using a lick from Solo 5 in 5 Easy Southern Rock Solos for the demonstration.

Thanks Griff,
While I may be new to soloing i have been playing over 40 years guitar. Believe it or not I am just now getting comfortable soloing. This video makes a lot of sense. Maybe I have too much of “Beginners Mind”
Best 2 to 4 suggestion I’ve ever heard. Thank you for this. I very much appreciate the pragmatic stuff..
I LOVE Box 4…Box 3 is the between the two, but it seems to be almost too disorganized to be useful for anything other than a “connector”. I like 1 with 2 (in a lot of your courses already) and 4 with 5. Very little movement to play 2 1/2 or more octaves of pentatonic delight.
