This is one of those classic blues rhythm moves I use all the time, and I teach all the time…
Yet, for some reason, I never see my students use it when it’s time. So we’re going to talk about it in case you haven’t seen it before.
If you have Blues Guitar Unleashed, you’ll recognize this from lesson 6. If you don’t, maybe check it out today.

In my copy of BGU 2.0 Lesson 6 is “The Tore Down Rhythm” . Is that what your referring too?
Terrific seminar on this fascinating topic in my honest opinion!!!
I am trying to finish the Beginning Blues soloing course and hampered by having to memorize just those few licks, but it gets easier with constant practice. I REALLY need to improve my rhythm playing and “clean it up” for general use. I don’t own BGU 2.0 or any other rhythm course. Is it time to really dive into BGU 2.0 or should I look at the Strumming and Rhythm Mastery? Suggestions? Griff?
Definitely BGU would come next for you. Strumming and Rhythm Mastery is a great strumming course, and if you’re doing a lot of campfire type strumming you’ll find it there. But for playing with a band and being able to play authentic blues, BGU is the one. Counting and timing are at the forefront of both so you’ll get better at it, for sure.
Thanks Griff
