Debbie Davies is one of the few blues women that have had the chance to go far in their blues music careers. Debbie even shared the stage with the great Albert Collins as part of his band, the Icebreakers, and has collaborated with a few more of the who’s who of blues musicians in the industry. She’s even produced quite a bit of her own material, and rightfully so, since the woman can play. I put together a few performance videos from Debbie for you to enjoy today, including a show with Albert and then a couple more with her own touring groups. I sure enjoyed watching them and listening to them and I hope you do to!
Debbie Davies probably got most of her recognition from the great Albert Collins as a part of his band, the Icebreakers. There’s nothing like learning the tricks of the trade from a bandleader like Albert Collins. See the band in action here at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jr5-9UImcTE.

Here’s a slow blues tune from Debbie and her own band on the road. This footage was taken from the Berlin Blues Fest in Connecticut. Check it out at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_KVCMYG390o.

Lastly, another live show from Debbie and her band. This time she’s got a full horn section and full band from the Legendary Rhythm and Blues Review at Callahan’s in 2010. Enjoy their performance at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KjIX0IIl_qs.

I hope you enjoyed hearing from the great Debbie Davies and her band. She’s one of the best blues women out there doing her thing. There’s more coming your way at Blues Guitar Unleashed, so stay tuned.
Thanks,
Griff
