While this isn’t the first time I’ve talked about this type of format for an acoustic blues…
This is the first time I’ve approached it using basically just one or two tiny pieces of a lick and creating 4 licks from those pieces.
In addition, I added a turnaround (though I didn’t walk through it, you can still see it on the tab on-screen.)
If you actually take the time to learn all of these components, and learn them well, you’d be amazed just how much you can play.
And if you like this, and want more (a lot more) then check out How To Jam The Blues Alone On Your Guitar.

I’m so glad I’ve taken up your offer on blues guitar unleashed. I had an epiphany during Covid lockdown, learning all 5 pentatonic patterns and able to switch to any key . My bandmates were surprised at my 12 bar solos, although 3 years on now, I felt they were a little tired and repetitive- your course with different ideas and approaches has invigorated my playing and as I continue my journey, I’m back enjoying gigs and busks with the enthusiasm of yesteryear . I’m 65 and look forward to your teaching and video ideas.
Hey Griff,
Great set of lessons here and a good refresher..Is your Purchase Offer open for sometime as I could be interested to purchase it at a later date?
If not I will purchase it from your catalogue when I am ready.
Maybe you could make up a great Acoustic Play Along with Griff for Play on the Porch Day on 26th August 2024 Live via Zoom for us all to join in and have some fun?
Cheers

Hey Griff! As a 69 year old, who has been playing since I was 10, I very much enjoy your style of teaching. I always learn something new watching your vids and often incoroprate the “lesson” into my band antics! Keep up the good work and hope to see you play in person one day! Jack
Just what I’ve been looking for!
good lesson Griff!
Awesome lesson as always, that first lick is the intro to Green River by CCR.
Keep ’em coming.
Cool, cool, cool stuff! Love how these riffs sound and how you can mix and match. For years I played 12-bars with an intro, chords, and turnaround and it sounded ok but a tad boring. Looking forward to trying these
I’m glad you did this one again Griff. I hadn’t really thought of it for a while because the day I first saw it I happened to be playing my acoustic and I practiced the heck out of it. It became a sort of warm up for me ever since and I noodle around over it never realizing I was missing a lick or two from the video. Now I’ve sort of ripped them off and the whole thing is something I play first thing on my acoustic while I get my fingers unkinked. Thanks for revisit!
This is a wonderful, useful, Free introduction on how to play guitar on the porch by yourself. Thanks
Thanks Griff!!! Always great and informative content.
This is exactly the type of thing I love on the guitar. I knew a couple of those licks but did not use them together. Thanks for this, it makes my guitar sound much bluesier.
Look ma! No hands! (17:10)
