Martin Harley has been all over the world playing lap-style slide guitar.

My pal Q went and saw Martin Harley perform in a show the other day, and while neither of us had heard of him before, he came back with a good report. Martin is a good player and a good songwriter as well, plus he plays some lap-style slide guitar and even on the Weissenborn as well. So I dug a little deeper on YouTube and found a couple videos featuring Martin in performance and an extended lesson about his style of playing. I thought it was pretty cool myself and thought you might dig it as well.

Martin Harley has been gigging around the world for several years now and is getting some recognition while on tour with Delta Rae and ZZ Ward. He draws upon a lot of blues and folk for his own style and kills it on the lap-style slide. See him in action now at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYIplrYqM1U.

While I was digging around for different video performance videos, I came across a guitar lesson Martin starred in for Guitarist about his slide playing. I thought it was a great lesson so I wanted to share it with you. Check it out at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qn2-CG4tJnk.

I hope you enjoyed some music and the video lesson from Martin Harley. The guy sure knows how to play. There’s more coming your way at Blues Guitar Unleashed, so stay tuned.

Thanks,

Griff

I precisely desired to thank you so much once again. I am not sure the things I might have created in the absence of the basics documented by you relating to that situation. It had become a real daunting issue in my position, but witnessing the very specialized approach you managed it took me to jump over fulfillment. I will be happy for the work and in addition hope you realize what an amazing job you happen to be providing educating the others through the use of your site. I am sure you’ve never encountered all of us.
