I’m always one to try and avoid the wrath of the copyright police… but basically this is how to play “Voodoo Chile” using a wah pedal and the E Minor Pentatonic scale in Box 4.

So while I called this something like “SRV/Hendrix Wah Stylings,” I think we all know what we’re talking about πŸ™‚

I found it easier to rock my foot instead of tapping and that worked too.

Thanks Griff! Great as usual. Just curious , the bottle behind you right shoulder. A little spice for the coffee?

He also has Bulleit Bourbon over his left shoulder πŸ€”

      Griff,

I agree with John. I definitely noticed when you stopped sending them. If it’s expensive or inconvenient, that’s certainly understandable. But I have to admit, I do like having them and returning to them from time to time.

      Excellent lesson Griff! Thanks!

Funny. When Griff said he heard the SRV version of Voodoo Child at about age 17 or 18, it changed his life. Oh, Man, you should have been here in 1968 !!! Jimi’s Voodoo Child changed the WORLD!
I think Stevie Ray is the only one since then who scaled that mountain and got to the top, and was able to chop it down with the edge of his hand.
Imagine Jimi and Stevie, two “six-stringers”, jamming in Heaven…

Love the intro music…. backing track reminds me of The Jack by AC/DC.

      Hi griff

Since you have started this new kinda thing when I receive the email it loads but the blues unleashed
Cover page is all I see. I hear the lesson but can’t see it. Any idea what may be going on?

      • Scott R

Give it another 30 seconds, and the logo goes away and the video lesson starts…

Hey Griff, even though I’m an All Access Pass member I’m not sure where you are posting live sessions like this one. Where are you posting them? Facebook??

Can Griff or anyone else please let me know. Thanks.

      • Griff

Edward these are just for fun, I just do them when I have a few minutes to sit down and turn the cameras on – so there’s no schedule, I’ve just been doing them a lot these last several days because it’s new and exciting πŸ™‚

For All Access Pass Members, all of the private live session archives are in the member area (bluesguitarunleashed.com/members) and under the “Cool Stuff” tab at the top you’ll see “All Access Pass” and that’s where ALL the archived live sessions are.

As always thanks for the variety of music you play/Show us. LOVE the blues. I’m a rocker who knows the roots. Thanks for explanation of equipment use, and once in a while a little acoustic guitar thrown in. You Keep it fun. It’s one of the best things I ever did (pick up a guitar) Always likes to play with me. PEACE to all PLAY ON

Hi Griff. I note that most recent lessons are not provided with wmv or PDF downloads. Pity. I have been saving your lessons since March 2012 or so. I find that as my skills have improved I have been able to go back to things that were too difficult back in the day. Btw, I have bought most of your courses. If I live to 200 I’ll probably not get through them all.

      • Griff

The good news is that they aren’t going anywhere, so you can always return here. It was getting expensive to keep ALL those wmv files stored over all those years and it didn’t seem like anyone noticed when I stopped doing it, so I figured no one was really using them.

As for PDF downloads, I still have them when it makes sense… on this one, I can’t for copyright reasons. It’s one thing to play a song, Youtube handles the copyright issues, but it’s a whole different thing to print the TAB.

        • John Hamill

I understand. But I’d still like the wmv. Best wishes.

Yes, I like the mp4 (even for windows.)

        • Marty H.

I noticed, but didn’t say anything, but I would love to have this one in .MP4.

    • David Airozo

      Thanks Griff.
