This is one of those classic Eric Clapton rock riffs from his Journeyman album back in 1989, and it showcases 2 important things…
One, of course, is the technique involved in the slide between the start and the middle and the end of the riff. This is something you just *have* to be able to execute easily and often…
Second is the timing. Most students struggle to breakdown 1/16th notes and count them, so take your time with this and dig into the syncopation of the riff. Without it, I can pretty much guarantee it’ll sound pretty bad π

You donβt see how crazy tha sounds?
Onee and a tuwee , you really think Clapton was doing that even if he was doing that in his mind , how could he possibly sing ?
I think itβs an automatic response
On the SIBLY can you do the actual song instead of the theory behind it ?

Great lick to count on. Let’s do it again.
Sweet
Youβre living the dream Griff. Thanks for the lesson.
Great!!! My understanding is when you want to play major scale, you go down two frets from the pentatonic scale. Example. Playing A minor pentatonic position 1 on fifth fret, A major scale position 1 start on second fret. But itβs not actually the major sound????
Thx
A Major Pentatonic Scale can be found 3 frets below the minor, yes. However, I don’t like looking at it that way, instead look at it as your index finger is the root for minor, your pinky is the root for major when you play box 1 of the pentatonic scale.
Awesome lick! Thanks Griff
Superb Clapton lick with my nemesis counting thanks again Griff great teaching as usual
