I like this particular idea for a couple of different reasons…

1 – The interesting rhythmic variety – don’t overlook this as it’s a huge part of the sound

2 – It starts on the 5th string root which is fine for the key of A, but almost an essential for D or E

3 – The bend at the end is one a lot of people don’t realize is an option in box 4.

Take your time and learn it, it’s not too difficult and should be easy once you can count it and have it memorized (and get the bend worked out 🙂

Outstanding, a great variation from most licks I have learned. Thank you Griff.

I actually did it. I counted through the whole riff. Counting is challenging for me. I even went back and counted through yesterdays riff too and it worked. I even made up a lick of my own by connecting boxes 1-4. I have a half dozen licks going now but I need to put them to use or I will forget them.

This is very much appreciated. I never gave any thought to the boxes 3 and 4 connection. I now have a new guitar area to play in and I have get another way to see the boxes in context. Thx for this one!!!
