A lot of my students have a hard time really “owning” and memorizing licks because they try to memorize too many things…

Most “licks” come from a series of “moves,” and those moves tend to get used in many different licks, no matter where they come from.

I think of it like speaking or typing, you don’t think about how to type “t – h – e”, you just type “the” when you think of it.

So think of moves as the articles of blues soloing 😉

If you dig this and want more like it, I’d encourage you to check out my Beginning Blues Guitar Soloing course on the Course Catalog.

Another informative lesson, and want to say that I have enjoyed the Blues unleashed program.

NICE ! We have been growing old together, Griff. I have a bad Rotator cup, left shoulder. So, I’m playing slide guitar. Any good lessons on slide? I have seen a few. I already tuned to G and Playing Bad to the Bone.
        Take care!

Great Lesson Griff…..would like to know where you have put these licks together in some sort of a solo for your viewers. Thx JT
