This is one of my favorite acoustic blues guitar moves for the first few bars of the 12 bar blues form…

It uses some little chords and inversions in the key of E (using E7)…

And keeps the bass going using “thumping” bass on the quarter note pulse with the thumb.

      Nice new Gibson not broken in yet by the sound of it,
      I strugle with thump bass, brain and fingers will not sync properly, but I keep trying all the same.
      I have AGBU and have not progressed very far after over 1 year or more, I gues age is a factor and I have more folk in my bones than blues.
