This is a really fun way to take a basic pentatonic or blues lick and add some new life to it…
We often play licks or ideas that are simply a descending version of the blues scale or pentatonic scale…
And when you do that, even within the middle of another lick, you can add this trick in to make it more interesting.

Hey man, great stuff, as usual. I’m an old porch player, no band. Hamer-ons work better for me with a little overdrive on the amp . I play along with the Blues Channel on cable tv. I like when a song is playing, and the guitar solo, and the sax solo take turns. I try to play along with the sax solo, on my guitar, and its not always a pentatonic scale, and gotta use regular scale notes. But the Twiddles you just showed us work perfect to liven up the copied sax solo notes. (and many other others) Thank you so much for that. You’re a good guy and we like your hints and teachings. Ray
