I want to share with you something that your fellow BGU’ers pulled off brilliantly…
Most folks who have gotten into the Blues Guitar Unleashed universe have arrived through my 4 Note Solo video from many years ago which, at last count, was way up over 2 million views on the YouTube.
In any event, since we haven’t been able to do a “BGU Live” in a couple of years, a bunch of the students got together and made their own take on the 4 note solo and I could not be prouder, and I hope you’ll give it a quick lesson – if nothing else as some inspiration to get in there and practice today 🙂

OK, but who is the Bassist, and why did the Bassist not get a solo????? 🙂
Hey this is so cool! Great to put a face to the names of the people I see in the chat on the All Access Pass sessions. Fantastic!
Inspiring! I can play those 4 notes…just not like these guys…yet!
Great job to all who was in it. It was very enjoyable and I had to pull my guitar out and join in! Love the harmonica in the mix – very cool.

That was so much fun!! Way to go and great job to everyone that participated. Excellent job on the production too. Thanks to everyone for the inspirational video and especially Griff and Laura for giving us BGU.
Nice!! Congrats to all. Learned your lessons well.
Hey, they all sound like me – Only Better!!
Nice time had by all. Great idea putting this together for Griff and Laura. Keep up the studies and let the blues out anyway you can….
Now that’s inspirational! Thanks
That’s just great! It’s 7:30 in the morning, I got a cup of coffee and watched this video. Had to pick up the guitar and realized that nothing is getting done for the next few hours, except playing the blues. Wonderful job everyone. Inspiring! 1 and a, 2 and a……
So Cool. I love Griff’s stuff but hearing more of my brothers in arms is just awesome. Thanks Griff. I’ve been jamming since I got into the office. It’s my company so I can have a guitar here. So Inspiring!
Hey everyone, that was great fun and I intend to steal a few licks. Thanks!
Thanks for the great solo’s . I am not at that point, meaning, not brave enough.
Great job! Thanks to everyone who participated.
Nice! Is there a forum or thread as a BGU insider I don’t know about. This is cool. I just did an online zoom open mic that I put up on my YouTube, doing some Zepplin and another in person thing doing SRV. Those were my first “live” performances. I hope to do more stuff in the future and love the online collaboration.
Great job everyone here! Mark Dyson. Lol the way you said your name sounded like you were about to come on down the Price is Right. I loved it
Griff does a usually twice a week lesson on line. Are you on it? I am and am trying to learn to play like these guys. I think they are on it. I wish I knew more about computers, cause I have a band and would learn to play and record like these guys.

I will have to pay more attention to BGU and maybe I can get in on one of these.
Everybody did a great job and I’d like to talk to the producer!! Great production on the video.
well done Gents!! and a terrifically nice thing to do
you are certainly correct about BGU being the best on the planet
You guys are an inspiration.
Thanks!
What a nice surprise to get this morning. I appreciated hearing all the different approaches to the four note solo and how good they all sounded. I also enjoyed the use of a harmonica and saxophone. It expanded my thinking how my guitar playing can fit with other instruments.
Very cool! It’s great to hear the different approaches to the same groove.
Love it! Great job guys!
🎸Great , just Great. Inspirational, so happy to hear the grooves. And thank-you, BGU, 😎 From time to time I’dlove to see/hear an extension of this format.(?Griff?)
Congratulations guys on a job very well done!
About halfway through I just had to stop and pickup my guitar to see what I could do. (So it did work Griff as you anticipated!). I started out using just four notes, but soon found myself straying off the path.
Once you have got the pentatonic shapes under your belt, and can move around the FB without too much thought or effort, it’s not too difficult to improvise and make music that sounds acceptably good. However, coming up with something that sounds really good capturing people’s attention and making them want more, is quite a challenge.
I couldn’t help noticing that each player had his own unique sound, and this made me think about how much was due to the guitar and accessories used, and how much was due to players unique style and background in music.
Ah well, the video made me even more enthusiastic and keen to play. Thanks guys for your efforts. I enjoyed listening to you.
maurmark@sbcglobal.net This is a great video!!! Thanks Griff for all you have taught myself and many, many other folks over time.Meanwhile, I got to go count something…..
Sounded great fellas. You brightened my day
Great job guys – you had me playing along all the way – very nice tribute. Particular shout out for Mike Potter closing it out, so good!
