I love playing with a band and playing on stage in front of people… and if you’ve ever done it before then you might agree with me on that one 🙂
But let’s face it, it can be a real challenge to get a bunch of people together and jam or play a gig… and that kind of practice and playing is vital to your improvement.
Enter… the jam track…
It’s a recorded band with no lead, perfect for trying out new licks and a bunch of other good things.
Well I’ve done quite a few of them with my band or friends of mine over the years… and I’ve got some new ones you might like.
So to show ’em off here’s a couple you can download and play over on me – enjoy.
And if you like them, consider grabbing Ultimate Blues Jams, Volume 2 and get 48 more besides (plus a version with no guitar, plus a PDF full of the chord changes and stuff so you know what’s going on.)
This one is a fun uptempo shuffle blues in A – All You Need Is Blues In A.mp3 (right click to save it to your computer if you want)
And this one is a minor slow blues feel in C minor – just grab that minor blues scale and have fun with – So Long.mp3 (right click to save it to your computer)
You can practice soloing over them and really work on your licks, no matter where they came from. And playing with a good band is one of the absolute best ways I know to improve so give it a shot if you haven’t already.

Hey Griff,
Thank you for the Freebies and they are great. I have to progress a bit more to really be able to feel confident with playing along with the new Jam Tracks so I have saved the details of your offer and will get them once I have progressed a bit further. But great idea.
Stay safe and many thanks.

Thank you Griff. An especially generous freebee because they’re great tracks to noodle along with. Wish I could see you and The Single Barrel Blues Band live, but as in London, England it’s a bit of a long night out!
Thanks Griff for the practice tracks! I had this thought this evening….You remind me of playing with friends in bands back in the 60’s and who ever could was playing lead would help the other members learn parts so the band would improve and sound better. .Griff Hamlin is OUR lead guitar player! And Griff you have one hell of a BIG BAND!
Thank Griff, I think these jam tracks are great! Can’t wait to start trying to play along with them.

YOU HAVE THE BGU COURSE? THEN ALL OF THEM ARE ON THERE.
Thanks Griff, Great stuff! Two things though, first why do you suggest UJT vol 2 and not vol 1? Got to look for that list. I hear TORE DOWN, STORMY MONDAY and LITTLE WING in there but not sure of the rest. Your titles are helpful. Second on “so long” I just can’t hear the turn around. Can anyone tell me what is being played? I love the little walk down but my ears are not getting it.again thanks for all the great info and goodies like these two tracks best Bill
So Long has been a favorite of mine for years now. I tend to gravitate to that often when I use my JS-10 (where I put it) along with all your others. I highly recommend the tracks for practicing. Your band has been my personal band for some time. Stay Well….and cool.
Hi Griff,
many thanks to you for the jam tracks. Great Job.
Heli.
I just purchased Ultimate Blues Jams, Volume 2 and these are really good tracks. I am also very glad you included the chord sheets in this version. Version 1 doesn’t include the chord sheets, but are really good tracks as well. Anyway, can you (or anyone out there) please provide a “in the style of” list for these jam tracks so that we can listen to the originals for soloing ideas. I have figured out about 20% of them on my own. It would be great to know what songs are the inspiration for these tracks.
*I do have a “in the style of” list for Ultimate Blues Jams, Volume 1 if anyone needs it. They are really good tracks as well!
Thanks Griff for another excellent product!
These are a great practice tool. Good work, Griff.
John, could you share your ‘in the style of’ work on the Ultimate Blues Jams Volume 1 please? That would be much appreciated.
All the best,
David
That list is in the member forum, you can search for it or just look under the UBJ section.
Unbelievable. I love it. Just a thought. I’m at the point of my learning where I have purchased recording software (DAW)and need quality rhythm section backing tracks to slide into my recordings . Basically just drums and bass letting me feature my sound. Have you thought about offering such a product. I love your stuff Griff.
You seem to know exactly where Im at in my guitar lesson needs!!! How you do that???..Thanks you so much….. Bob
I Love the Second Track Better Than the First one Griff, Always the best.
Thanks Griff, when I get home from work I’m going to check this out. Thanks Again
Great Stuff Griff! These along with others including your 29 Blues Jam Tracks will get me ever closer to getting up the courage to sit in at our local open mike nights.
Great Tracks. Thanks alot, they really help when trying to learn to solo.
Griff
I really do appreciate how hard you work to make your instruction classes interesting and successful

Excellent Griff. Great backing Tracks to play with. Thanks again Griff.
Thanks for the tracks Griff. Really nice to play along with. Love the second one.
Does the ultimate blues jam volume one also include a PDF instruction guide? If not, it should. I see that is a great addition. Thanks hey wow how old
Huge Thank You, Griff, love these. Question: Is So Long missing the ending? It just kind of drops out around Bar 10 at the finish.
I think something must have gone wrong when you downloaded… I just re-downloaded it to check and it was fine.
Cheers Griff,
So long is just the sort of stuff I like.
You are always so generous! This is another example. Thank you for it.
Thank’s Griff !YOUR THE best.Thank’s for keeping it fresh for us ! YOU seem to know what we need & when we need it,uncanny cool! Respectfully,Kim
Excellent! Thank you so much. Great backing tracks to play over.
Griff, it would be great if you could include chord diagrams for the chords in your backing tracks. I know you include chord names. Having these would show the fingerings you played. I am as interested in playing along with the rythmn as well as soloing.
Griff’s has provided a cord chart .pdf for ultimate jams two asking for diagrams is asking too much. Look them up it will help you remember them
