Bob Brozman will be sorely missed, but his music and lessons will live on. Photo courtesy of Wikipedia.org

Unfortunately, we lost one of our great contemporary friends and fellow musicians way too early at the age of 59. Bob Brozman dedicated his life to the study and performance of music, traveling the world to learn more about the guitar from a variety of cultures. He was a master of the guitar, in that he admitted he would always keep learning more from it. I wanted to share some of his performances with you in remembrance of his music and great attitude towards world music.  I found three videos that I especially liked and wanted to share. The first features his classic performance of “Highway 49 Blues,” then I found an in-depth interview and introduction to one of his music workshops I thought you would enjoy, and finally I found a haunting performance of “Death Come Creepin” that gave me the chills. I hope you enjoy them all as much as I did!

Bob Brozman dedicated his life to music and it sure shows in his performances. Enjoy this solo performance of “Highway 49 Blues” at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FuzfgagmrBk.

I found this interview with Bob about his experiences in music and what he has found traveling the world listening to and learning from ethnic styles of music. It’s a long video, but worth the watch at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=64Ua2lNmIK8.

Lastly, I came across a haunting rendition of “Death Come Creepin” performed live by Bob in London. Check it out at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GAQ0pyKW4S4.

I hope you enjoyed these performance and insight from Bob Brozman. He will be missed by fans all around the world, but his music will live on. There’s more coming your way at Blues Guitar Unleashed, so stay tuned.

Thanks,

Griff

I just look forward to your emails so much. Bob has been a guitarist who I have heard before, but I over the years did not think of. Shame on me, I am an acoustic blues hearted picker and man thank you so much for letting me hear Bob once again. Your are the greatest Griff, Peace and safety to you always.

Griff: Thanks for these. He was unique. (His right hand is awesome too). Whenever I play slide and get frustrated playing notes with my free fingers, I’ll remember Bob Brozman. He made it look so easy. All the greats do: Derek Trucks, Sonny Landreth, Ry Cooder, Bonnie Raitt.
He was also a true musicologist.
      Thanks again
