There are a lot of great blues guitarists out there, and not all of the stand in as bright of a spotlight as the likes of B.B. King, Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Nonetheless, they have been playing their music at music festivals all around the world for a multitude of new and old fans. One of these blues guitarists is Joe Louis Walker. Joe has played with many of the top names in music history, not just in the blues too, since his credentials include names like John Lee Hooker, Otis Rush, Thelonious Monk, and Jimi Hendrix just to name a few. These appearances have built Joe into a solid guitarist, vocalist and even a good harp player. I wanted to shine the spotlight on this great guitarist by featuring him in this post. I collected a few of his performances that I think you’re really going to enjoy.

Joe Louis Walker has performed with harp player Billy Branch several times, and in this video the duet is joined by fellow blues icon, Matt “Guitar” Murphy. Listen to the trio play some down home acoustic blues at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0YcIOPi4KZg.

In the next video, Joe shines on the guitar. I pulled a video that features an extended solo when compared to the previous show. Check him out with his band at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h3jyEmIgWkA.

Lastly, Joe and his band kill some slow blues in this live show at the Jimiway Blues Festival in Poland 2010. Enjoy it now at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXWzRPaxxFU.
