The Tedeschi Trucks Band is one of the hottest bands in blues music today, and in my opinion, they are one of the best because they continually strive to stay true to the music. Derek is a monster guitar player and arranger, while Susan is a stellar guitar player and vocalist, and the band they have together is definitely top notch. Together, they released a few videos talking about their own recording process and how technology has been applied, for better and for worse, to the recording scene. I wanted to share some of these videos with you so you can catch a glimpse into the recording process with Derek and Susan. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did!
Derek and Susan teamed up with Musician’s Friend after their album, Revelator, won a Grammy award to talk about their home recording studio in Florida. Check out the video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UO9eF44ExQk.

Derek and Susan were also interviewed by USA Today while on tour with B.B. King about their opinions of the role of technology in the recording process. See the full article at http://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/columnist/talkingyourtech/2012/10/16/tedeschi-trucks-on-talking-your-tech/1628063/.
On the road, the blues purists take a hands-off approach to tech. They won’t allow digital devices on stage when they perform, but love them at home — where they use tech to dramatically speed up the recording process.
We met the duo on a recent stop in Los Angeles, when they performed with B.B. King at the Hollywood Bowl. (Trucks also performs and records with the Allman Brothers.) The Tedeschi Trucks Band will perform in Norfolk, Va., on Thursday and Wilmington, N.C., on Friday.
No laptops on stage
Tedeschi: “In this digital age, a lot of bands play along with tracks, but we don’t. We’re just a natural band.”
Trucks: “A lot of times people will use (the laptop) to re-create their records. Extra background vocals, sound effects, all sorts of things. Sometimes it’s lip synching. All sorts of things go on. …You can use auto-tune so you don’t have to be good. Those are things that are fully off limits for what we do.”

Its not my first time to visit this site, i am visiting
this website dailly and get fastidious facts from here every day.
I get what they are aspiring to accomplish. I also love some of the remarks I have heard Derek and/or Susan make about the mainstream music industry. I have been a fan of Derek Trucks for probably 15 years or so, maybe even longer. I have enjoyed every single tune that`s out there, or at least the tunes I could find, ever done by Derek or with him included in the tune. I`ve also grown to love Mrs. Susan. I am a big Bonnie fand and the similarities really held me back as a fan until these last few albums. She really let`s her soul sing. This is a bold statement but I really wish that The Tedeschi Trucks band would add some type of psychedelic effects to their sound. Maybe a heavily reverberated keyboard and some kind of bells or whistles on the guitar. I suppose winning a Grammy for an album nullifies my opinion and to even have an opinion on this band is crazy to begin with but I can really hear it and I really think that with this thing I`m hearing and the combination of such a supreme band that it would become Legendary.
There is a lot to learn from this! Great post Griff!
