We lost the great Gary Moore too soon, and although he isn’t around now to melt our brains with his guitar, his music lives on. As I was looking around for cool content to share with you, I came across a few interviews with Gary Moore talking about his music, his sound, and his gear. In all three interviews, Moore offers some very good insight about his career and music, and plays some pretty happening stuff as well. I hope you enjoy these videos as much as I did!
In the first video, Gary Moore talks about his 2007 album, “Close As you Get.” It’s pretty interesting to hear him talk about the processes he implemented to make the album. Moore also talks about some of his music influences and his opinion of songwriting. Check it out at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uW2AAzQ8sk4&feature=related.

The second videos focuses more on Moore’s approach to playing the guitar. There’s a great takeaway in this video, defining how to play the notes on the guitar is more important than playing all the notes on the guitar. Check it out at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qNqWn1YXtlY&feature=related.

In the last video, Gary Moore plays through a couple of his guitars and shares what he finds most important in choosing the right guitar. Check it out at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mCvgE6yzoAM.

Gary Moore was truly one one of the best guitarists in the music industry, and I find it very cool to see and hear him talk about his playing in interviews like these. I hope you enjoyed the videos as much as I did!
Thanks,
Griff

Thanks Griff. A longtime favourite musician. Would love some impute on the 335 and gold top jams. Regards,Chris.
Gary was an amazing player with a fantastic tone
.Another greast Irish guitarist and a contemporary of Gary (and who died at even a younger age) was Rory Gallagher (47), His DVD Irish Tour ’74 is really good.
Gary is one one of my all time favorites. I was lucky enough to work with him an know him. One of the nicest guys you ever want to meet. He is sorely missed musically and personally. One of the things he did was play really heavy strings growing up because he did’nt know any better. When he went to the lighter strings he became a bending monster. Let’s not forget Gary was a Heavy Metal God as well. Check out ” Over the Hills”
Loving your vids before I found you were a fan of Gary. Now I’m really impressed! I was fortunate enough to see Gary up close in concert 3 times back in the 80’s & 90’s and he was one of my fave players! Gone too soon but never forgotten!
very inspiring! THANKS!
Griff– I’ve yet to see a video that you posted of the masters of the instrument that was not interesting.
Keep ’em coming!
Was lucky enough to see him live several years ago at the Royal Albert Hall, London.
One word describes him, ”Awesome”. Thanks for posting.
I’ve always favored guitarists, but Gary Moore was one of the artists that I’d stop what I was doing to pay attention to when he was on. Thanks for these interviews. Fantastic!
