The Four Kings of the blues, B.B. King, Earl King, Freddie King, and Albert King, have given us some great blues music over the years.  For fun, I put together four videos that feature each King playing the blues like the masters they are.  B.B. King plays a great version of the song, “Blues Boys Tune,” Earl King performs his hit song, “Come On,” Freddie King performs a killer version of the Bill Withers classic song, “Ain’t No Sunshine,” and Albert King plays some dirty blues over the song, “Blues Power.”  I hope you enjoy the videos as much as I did!

B.B. King slows it down and plays all his troubles in this live recording of the song, “Blues Boys Tune.”  Check it out at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Ny5ajCn0xw.

Earl King was a blues artist and composer from Louisiana that was responsible for the hit song covered by Jimi Hendrix, “Come On (Let The Good Times Roll).”  Hear him sing this great hit song at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nsYCoKCq2ps.

Freddie King plays a killer version of the Bill Withers classic song, “Ain’t No Sunshine,” in this next performance.  Check it out at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=16AnGcB7MHA.

Albert King tells all in this great recording of the song, “Blues Power.”  Enjoy the performance at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5dpp2iCRwM.

Have you checked out Jeff Golub’s tribute CD to the 4 kings?

I am certainly not to first to mention it, but Albert King’s genius was in the simplicity and tempo of his playing…..it almost brings tears to my eyes.

Willie King, who passed last year, was a mainstay of the Delta electric blues for many, many years. Though less well-known to the masses, his 2 chord songs were very earthy and influential.

Buddy Guy, among others, has recorded a number of Willie’s songs.

While I wouldn’t put Willie up there with the 3 Kings, I would consider him as important as Earl.
