Aside from the basic 5 boxes of the pentatonic scale, this pattern is one of the more powerful patterns I know of…

I use this a lot just in day-to-day blues and rock soloing, but it’s a particularly great way to get from one box to another, or from one fretboard region to another.

Let’s check it out and make some music with it, both in major AND minor keys!

Hi Griff, I have been using 2+3 3+2 lesson while jamming to some Dire Straits music—
Wow, once I put it to work,it helps me figure out the key of the song quickly and helps me work in some licks and move thru the fret board without getting too lost… it’s like Randy Becker said—a light bulb moment. This pattern works the same in all keys…
Thanks Griff, I really appreciate this and all of your lessons.

      Thanks again Griff,
These lessons really help fill in holes. I find, that the more I apply
These routines the more comfortable I become overall.
I try to play or, listen to a lesson everyday and these lessons really
Help with that too— you always have something new and meaningful to work
On or listen to, even if it’s just in the form of encouragement.
      I Appreciate that as well.

      Lightbulb moment!!

This is a cool way to connect the boxes. I sometimes get lost and forget how to get out of my lick and back to another box. I gotta go practice this while its fresh in my mind.

I was thinking of a table on contents list with recommended sequence of lessons. Hard to tell where to start.

These types of lessons are not in any particular order, they’re just something fun to play with. Courses always go in order, so if you’re a beginner and you go through my Beginning Blues Guitar course, it’ll be in order front to back. Same with Blues Guitar Unleashed or any other course. If you don’t know where to start, always go with one of the “Unleashed” courses, they are the bread and butter.
