Great video, reminding us of everything you taught us over the years! For some of us, that information is still sinking in! Griff, you are so right about the steps to take to get it right!
Thanks for all the lessons you taught us over the years at Blues Guitar Unleashed! You are a blessing to the guitar world!

All very sound advice (forgive the unintentional pun). Inspirational in the sense that it gets you to reflect on your own intentions, interests, and outcomes. Sometimes it just helpful to take a step back and think about what, how, and why you are doing things. The goal of course is an improvement in the outcome, in this case your technique and the sound it produces. A very good and important lesson, I believe! Thanks as always.

      Hi Griff,
My life has been an amalgam of bad habits. Overcoming SOME (like cigarettes) has been hard, to say the least. Anyone watching your mastery of the guitar couldn’t possibly ignore your advice but I know some will.

I still remember, after years of chasing, catching, searching and finding picks in every corner of my path, your simple suggestions about how to hold one.

      SHAZAMM! Problem solved.

      Just sayin’.

One of the best, and I stress ONE of the best bits of advice you ever gave me during a fix it was to slow down. Don’t try to blaze through something when you aren’t ready. It has made a world od difference.

At 80, this was a codification of some of the mantras I serendipidly have been doing the past ten years. Thanks for organizing these as it will allow me to focus on these ten mantras and, I suspect, will greatly improve my sound in the coming months–yes, SOUND is what we strive for. Now perhaps I’ll open the package containing your blues course that I purchase several years ago–LOL.

Thanks, Griff. After 64 years of playing the guitar badly, all of these ideas are hitting the sweet spot for me. Some things I’ve already incorporated in but some are stupidly new to me. I’m happy to add them to my daily adventure of keeping my mind and dementia from over taking me.

This was great. I sat here and listened to the whole video and took notes. I wish I had this list about 30 years ago. I’ve made all these mistakes and more. I should print this out and tack it to the wall in my office and read it every morning before guitar practice. Maybe then it would sink in. I could elaborate on each item and how it has impacted my playing but I am sure you have heard it all before. Thanks for the words of wisdom.

Great beginner lesson. Thanks as always Griff!
