Aside from PC mic's, I dont' have any experience with them. There are some out there you could try out. If it were me I would start with a standard XLR Microphone (something along the lines of a Shure SM57) and get an XLR - USB adapter.

Something like this would be great, but I know there are cheaper adapters out there.

Also just found this cable that might be interesting to try out.

I just did some more research into that cable. Looks like it's pretty much junk. Glad there's other people to try it out first. I'll keep my eyes open for other options too.

Another option that's a little cheaper than the Shure converter.

Think i would be better off going this route, or just getting the Line 6 UX1?  The UX1 seems to be pretty common around here.

Hey, if you can afford it, go for the UX. That will do exactly what you want it to, I just didn't even think of mentioning it for some reason. I'm kind of slow like that at times. I think Mike's still got his UX1 for sale. I was thinking about buying it from him to play around with Pod Farm, but I'm sure you'll get better use out of it since I have the gear I need already.

Last post on the bottom.

Sometimes I just have a tendency to only suggest what people have asked. Maybe my brain just doesn't like venturing more than it has to since I'm always multi-tasking. I should have suggested that from the start.
