Using liclicks in other solos

I realize these are plug and play licks that are designed to fit in each of the designated slots but say I want to take any of those licks regardless of position and use it somewhere in a whole new solo I've come up with not from the construction solos. Judging from the How to Improvise course as long as I know where it begins and ends and the chord it's over I'm golden right. Is that the way I take it.

Yes, but the key has to be made the same so there may need to be some number changing.

To me, it is also important to use "plug and play" licks, to have a sound that emulates a conversation, rather than a Chinese Opera!
