Jami's Deep Sea Blues

I've been working on counting out loud while playing - what a challenge to do. But I'm working at it. There are areas out of time in my recording. I can count in time, and play in time, but doing both together currently is out of my reach. I was playing this better last week when I wasn't trying so hard, but it feels great to hit chords that previously were a challenge.

I struggled in my early days with counting, mainly because I didn’t believe I needed to. Boy, was I wrong. Now, I consider it invaluable in trying to develop your internal clock. You are sounding good. Keep it up!

Thank you! I played flute when I was younger, and had great rhythm. But I counted in my head and tapped my foot - counting out loud takes a lot of brain power - I'm more amazed by playing and singing now. As playing and counting is still out of reach.

Sounds very nice! It's a great feeling to be able to do something you couldn't do before :)

Thanks :) It does feel good, especially finally capturing an okay recording! So different than just playing in my room.

You're definitely hitt'n those chords.
Timing will keep improving as you play more.

I'll never be a guitar instructor so, don't listen to me but......
I think getting the rhythm flowing is more important than most other elements.
Once you get good at rhythm and timing, solos and singing will be a breeze.

Math was never one of my strengths so counting remains a weakness.
Guess that's why my playing is rated as a solid 2.

You've clearly got the notes down & well done for that!. So keep playing this one, maybe to a metronome or a drum track? I sometimes go so far as to create drum & bass tracks in Guitar Pro 8 that sound terrible, but keep me in time and let me know while I'm playing if I've gotten off the beat.
