Thanks Griff, I’ve been on your mailing list for quite some time and I wish that I had had the benefit of your knowledge years ago. I have neuropathy in my fretting hand now and hoped to continue possibly with slide guitar, this video shows it’s possible.

I like what you show on the slide video. I’m having problems with arthritis in my hands as well as other places. It’s getting hard for me to fret like I used to. ( I still don’t know what a penatonic scale is ). or what and how to get a blues scale. I love the sound of blues music. Thank you for the video.

      Hi Robert, concerning your questions:
      o) The pentatonic has 5 notes and comes in two flavors: major or minor.
o)The blues scale has 6 notes and is exactly like the minor pentatonic with an added flat 5th note.
      so, for example:
      The A minor pentatonic scale consists of the notes A, C, D, E, G. The A blues scale consists of the notes A, C, D, Dflat, E, G.
( note the blues scale adds the D flat where as the pentatonic leaves this note out )

That was fantastic. I was sitting here laughing about how simple it can be. Per your other email though I still need to watch it at least six more times to really get it. Much thanks for being there for us green-horns.

Hi Griff, go you have a course on slide guitar?

  6. Jim says:

Welp….I have been playing about 61 years. Started teaching when I retired. Rather serious for the past 5 years. Maybe intermediate level..love to teach what I know. …Can usually listen to something and make a good “stab at it” Have used the CAGE approach…but realized..as you inferred..not exactly easy to teach. I think you have nailed it! Just ordered your course….I think it is the first lesson material I have actually purchased since The Mickey Baker courses back in the seventies. Thank you for sharing the concise approach to teaching that you have mastered.
    God bless

Do you still have a moratorium on shipping to Canada for your course material
