How To Play Thousands Of Blues Songs - Video 1
In This Video...
We'll begin a series of 3 videos about playing the blues at a jam with a band, even if you've never heard the song they are playing before.
Specifically in this video we'll cover the vocabulary of the blues and a blues jam, and how to handle the rhythm, since that's a large part of the song.

Thanks! I’d before knew about blues form and chords. But now I know HOW to play them properly! It’s amazing!!! Thank you so much!
Now “YOU” make sense. I learned more in your explanation(s) than from others on the YouTube.
It is great getting to see that you are continuing to your knowledge and experience. Great teacher! I had been watching your videos since 2012, but not practicing at the level I needed to really improve. I had set the guitar down for the last 5 years. I am dusting off the guitar and picking back up. I hope to purchase Blues Guitar Unleashed 2.0 DVD/CD Pack by end of September. You are such a great resource. Thank you for continuing to share and encourage young and old, to start where they are and pick up the guitar and enjoy the Blues.
Cheers Griff, a very very intersting video that brings confidence to any budding guitaris. Thank you so much
Thanks! Very good lessons
Hi, I’m Aydin fr. Turkey, tabs, notes and rhythm structures are very useful and helpful, thanks.
OMG. Some people can teach and some people can’t. Griff, I get more from you in five minutes than I have from hours with other people. Thanks for your generosity.
Great lesson! Thanks very much please put me on your mailing list!

You talk too much 10 minutes now and you haven’t played a note yet its so boring sorry for the bad critique. I am repeating what other person said, which I agree- Too much talking. I am not shure to buy your cours yet.
I think this might be the lesson that gets me out of my learning guitar rut. Thanks Griff. Wish me luck!
Basics for the newbees u shouldn’t watch if u know it already don’t complain he does this for freeeeeee
Outstanding lesson; you make it so easy! Been following your videos for about a month now, and you break it down much better than the other blues guitar instructor on YouTube that I follow.
Looks like great lessons
WoW Griff! I feel lately it’s starting to come together and this is amazing. This feels like the secrets no one wants to tell.
Well done and much appreciated!

Griff is passionate and relentless. Yesterday (100 videos later) I bought a Les Paul. – Look out world!
I think this might be the lesson that gets me out of my learning guitar rut. Thanks Griff. Wish me luck!
Thanks Griff it’s really great of you to share these lessons
Enjoying the lessons
I love this series!! Thanks so much!
It would be really helpful to me if you would count as you play. I can’t quite make sense of the rhythm.
Thanks Griff, that was fun!
I’m glad that you do these videos and downloads , I love the fact that it’s free , I could never afford lessons now that I’m retired. At 54 learning a meaningful skill like guitar is a challenge but , but imagine how much worse the world would be without music.
Thanks
The best and most generous teacher I’ve ever come across.
Thank you Griff
Hello ,again Griff,
Gee!! To be able to have backing tracks for 3 feels of blues is fantastic and really appreciated and makes practicing a joy!!
Also, special thanks for this wonderful free offering which is so professionally presented to be received all the way across the Pacific Ocean to Australia.
You do what you do so very well!!
When are you coming down-under for a visit and we can have a group play-along on a stage with all your Aussie mates!!
Cheers – Great stuff!!

Thanks Griff. This is excellent.

Thank you sooooo much Griff, really enjoying your lessons, have a great New Year in 2023.
Thanks for taking the time with your simplistic explanations! You make things so clear. Simply the best!
New to the blues, I’m going to give it a try, I’ve never been around anyone who plays the blues,I’m on a fixed income so I really can’t afford lessons, so I thank you very much for what you’ve shared,I really appreciate it
I’m a beginner, trying to learn the blues from one of the best online instructors #GriffHamlin. I watch a clip of you using 4 notes to solo and I was overwhelmed with what you could learn with a #Great instructor. I plan to one be called up at a Griff Hamlin Jams… thanks
I’m in Southern California 6 months a year (Nov-Apr). Where are you located.
I actually moved to Texas recently, since this video was made. But before that I was in Southern Cal. for 31 years in Corona (near Riverside.)
I enjoy your practical approach and your teaching style.
I used to play the guitar in a high school band some 38 years ago. This is what I missed as I never learned music. I played by ear. This stuff is so inspiring and I am picking up my guitar again. Thank you so much for this, as I consider myself a beginner blues guitar player now. Please keep it coming. I’m 57 years old
Great intro to the Blues. Just what I needed. Can’t wait for the next video and beyond info.
Great lesson. I appreciate the simplicity and the usability. Thank you so much!
I am aware that the advert for this blues course was indicated the course was Free I.e. no charges to be levied.
So as I don’t believe that everything is gor free, please indicate exactly when a fee is to be charged as the exchange rate from USD to ZAR in South Africa is over 20 to 1 so any chsrge of say 100 USD the vist to me is over R2000.00 which is very expensive and unaffordable. So please indicate when charges are going to be levied as I have been caught in the past with advertising items for free and hiding charges that are yo be levied.
Thanks! Is there a way to loop your shufle counting out loud? I can play the rhythm with feel but I cannot play it when I’m counting.
