Where did that house come from?

The Os from bottom to top are C#-E-F#-A-B (6-1-2-4-5). There is no 3rd.

The Major house is not a "scale". (1-2-4-5-6)

To get a Major sound you bend the 2 (F#) up to a 3 (G#).

You can also get a minor sound by only bending the 2 up to G, the b3.
Duh- you are right about the C#. I don't know what I was thinking. The Os could also be a major feel in the key of A: major 3, 5, 6, 1, 2.

Yeah, we finally figured out that Elio was considering both houses as "upper" Box 2.

On the left could be considered both G Major with root on the 1st string and E minor with the root on the 2nd.

Moving it up 2 frets would just become A Major and F# minor.

However, we're keeping E on the 2nd string as the root in both, so the Major house has neither the A or F# of Box 2 as the root.

It's more like a third "mode" that starts on the 5 of the Major Pentatonic. In this case E in A Major.

But it's not a "viable" scale without a 3rd. So we just bend the 2 up to it. (F# to G#)

That's the beauty of the "Major" House pattern.

It can be Major if you bend up a whole step to the 3 or minor if you only bend up a half step to the b3.
