What are you listening to today?

I thought it would be cool to hear what people are listening to on a day to day basis, whether its at home on the stereo or on the net. I'm posting a video my friend John Macloed shot called Lazy Vampire. I'm fortunate to have him close by to jam with occasionally.

Nice guys.  I listened to an old Chess records compilation of Elmore James and John Brimm called "Whose Muddy Shoes".  Lot of great songs.  Actually listened to the entire album twice today.

Here's a cut

I previously posted a video by my buddy John Macloed and I'm including a link to Reverbnation where there are many more of his songs. We met by chance this past summer down by the lakeside and eventually discovered that we were born in the same Northern Manitoba town, The Pas. We share alot of things, the biggest being music. He now lives in Palm Springs most of the time but is hanging out in my little village in Saskatchewan writing new songs. He plays a mean slide guitar, harmonica and I think he has an amazing voice. Pardon me for rambling on, I just get such a kick out of having him around to play with. His wife Caroline once worked for the Beatles management team.

Today Im watching the Allman Bothers in concert from 1991 on Qello.  Good concert.  Dickey's playing is really good.

I've got this old vinyl album called the Royal Jam, recorded live at the Royal Festival Hall in London, UK. It features BB King jamming with the Crusaders around 1982. I think its the first time the King played for Queen Elizabeth! Very cool album.

Twisted Christmas Carols. It helps me cope with the retail holiday stress. Jim

The other day I was in one our local 'Superstores' and happened to see 'Foreigner Unplugged' for $4.99. I couldn't resist :) it's most of their classics done acoustically and it is pretty good! I was pleasantly surprised.

In my shop we listen to a modern rock station, and a hard rock station, and a classic rock station(not all at the same time)--we have printed t-shirts for all three, when I am in my office working on graphics I listen to Pandora with all my stations on shuffle.

On my way to work this morning I listened to JJ Grey & Mofro. Some great tunes on this album. On the way home I cranked up Warren Haynes and Government Mule. Love this CD.
