I just wrote this song. It is not exactly uplifting but something I needed to get off my chest....
Verse:
You say that you are tired, that you are hungry and poor.
That they continue to push you out of the door.
The pain is so real that it hurts to the bone.
But let me tell you, that you are not alone.
Chorus:
Please senators and congressmen please hear the call.
Without your help many more will fall.
You have been given the power to help those in need.
Don't squander those powers to feed your own greed.

We have many people who now live on the streets.
It is cold, dark, and dangerous wherever they meet.
They used to have homes and families, that are now gone.
My heart bleeds for them, as things have gone terribly wrong.
