Tonight’s fixit session was really good. Thanks to all who made submissions. All were great. During the session, I think Griff said ‘Turn it up, turn me up’. That’s me. I have to turn everything up. Known hearing loss (loud music teenage years and beyond). My first (and only) submission I was playing against a backing track on an iPad against an amp. I couldn’t hear the snare or much less the high hat. I think I was trying to follow the bass or the chord changes. Since, everything I play against is amplified. And I focus on trying to hear the snare hit and then the high hat in between. But counting out loud before seems essential. Especially with some of the tricky licks. Playing along with Griff is good. I can hear each of his notes as I (try to) play along. Anyway, I just wanted to put out there one of my issues. Hearing the beat.
