SWS Solo # 2 Video Recording (Take Two)

(BW)

Better off with the Blues!
I was encouraged to redo Solo # 2 and make the notes flow more smoothly. In the first video, you will see that I am not as comfortable. This is because I tried using a Strat which my hands have a hard time with. The second time I am using Les Paul and it feels more natural. Do you guys notice a difference?

Great job. I notice a difference. Your strat recording sounds kind of staccato....kind of choppy and rushed. The LP sounds much more relaxed. More legato....you're milking the notes for every ounce of sustain you can get out of them.....topped of with some sugar which is icing on the cake. Very smooth.....very nice!

Great job on both. Yes, you do seem more comfortable with the Les Paul. Is it the long vs. short scale thing (string tension)?

I definitely recommend this course. I’ve got a few more solos down from this course that are a blast to play. The later ones are killer. Not sure I’ll make it through but the nice thing is you can go at your own pace. I don’t know where I would be without Griff’s lessons. They have gotten me through some tough times.

Playin' for the fun of it.
Both were enjoyable and very well played so I reckon if I have to select one over the other it comes down to tone, and for that I'll go with the Les Paul. (y)
