It never fails, as soon as you document something, you figure out a faster/better way to do it.
This video takes the same jam track and does exactly the same thing, but if you follow the steps in this one, you'll spend a lot less time extending a jam/backing track.

Just to prove it works just as well, here is the backing track that was made during this update.

Two questions:
1) How do you setup the "Compound Tool"?
In my S1, only the one I click is highlighted. I've Tried Alt/Click, Ctrl/Click, Ctrl/Alt/Click, CTRL/Alt/Shift/Click...
2) Finding the BPM. I use a BPM Counter ( https://www.all8.com/tools/bpm.htm ) to get close. Is there an easier way?

This left bar controls linking to the compound cursor. This is not linked.

This is linked.
Toggle it on and off by clicking on the left bar.

Yes. Tap tempo is built into S1.

Put your cursor on the word "Tempo" and then tap using the left-click on your mouse. The longer you tap, the more accurate it will be. You still will need to tweak it, but it will get you very close.

If you have Studio One Pro, Melodyne will tempo match. You can check this video out.

I have found it works well with a very sparse track (drums and bass), but not well if you have more instruments. It also works better with straight timing than it does with shuffle or swing timing.
Having said that, I don't use it because for me it has been wrong more often than right and I end up fine tuning just like I would with tap tempo.
