What I like about Big D (I believe his name is Derek?) is that he never comes off as some kind of know-it-all but rather more like some guy who lives down the block who's good with his hands.

The way he works, the jigs, templates and homemade tools he uses makes me think that someone like me (who loves to work with wood) could actually build a guitar from scratch without having to spend years in a learning curve or having to spend thousands of dollars on tools and equipment.

His workmanship is awesome and his finishing techniques are quite varied.
