Public Library e-resources

I posted a mention of an article about Stevie Ray a couple of hours ago; the article is in the latest Guitar Player magazine. I started buying Guitar Player about 1970 and continued buying the magazine until 7 or 8 years ago, when my local Public Library started subscribing to a service that provides GP and many other magazines as e-resources. So these days I read magazines on the PC (could read them on phone or tablet but eyes are not compatible with little teeny screeny pages).
The library also has a service called FREEGAL, which is short for FREE LEGAL MUSIC DOWNLOADS.
I've been using it for about 5 years and I've got more than 4000 songs that I've downloaded - jazz, blues, rock. classical, world, you name it. There are thousands of albums; also e-books, video clips.
I don't know whether anything similar is available in the States, but I recommend checking out your Public Library. And have a look at the movie "The Public".
