Practice without guitar

Griff’s recent advice is of course spot on but he asked for additional ideas for practice without a guitar. I use visualisation on the plane, in the car and even going to sleep - primarily chord tones and other shapes. Seeing it in the mind also helps me not to look at the keyboard when so do have my guitar.

As I lay me down to sleep, I count beats instead of sheep. Useful practice when working out strum patterns or the vocals timing of a new song, and so on.

I went to sleep last night and woke up this morning thinking about different ways to demonstrate the "connections/similarities" between boxes from the roots on different strings. (Actually I've been thinking about this for 5+ years.)
