Blues Newbie
Greetings all, my journey has landed me here today. I'm Ron from Long Island NY. I've been teaching myself guitar for about fifteen months now. And quite frankly I'm all over the place. Now that I have the AAP, with the Practice Generator, I intend to drill down and focus on a specific strategy to help me become the blues man I intend to be. I am currently on lesson 3, of Blues Guitar Unleashed, and just getting the gist of barre chords. Since I had no structure in my training I'd go 2 or 3, days or more between practices. Which I now know was a colossal misstep on my part. A student is only as good as his teacher.o_O
So I'm here to put in the work and practice everyday to achieve my goals as a blues player. I look forward to sharing, learning and growing in this forum. I have two guitars, three amps, six pedals, and a stomp box :sneaky:
Guitars
Fender American Ultra
Epiphone DC Pro
Amps
Fender Blues Jr lV
Fender Frontman 10G
Peavey Vypyr 1
Stompbox
Line 6 M13

Welcome to the Forum Ron.
Where on Long Island?
I lived the first 10 years of my life in Brooklyn and the next 20 in West Babylon (South Shore Suffolk County) The next 40 have been in Texas.

Be sure to check out the Long Island Blues Society https://www.libsny.org/
I played at a blues jam hosted by Mike Santa, but I honestly don't remember in which town.
Check him out on FB https://www.facebook.com/mike.santa.948

Chubby, old guy trying to play some blues.
Ron, welcome to you. From Ron in Omaha. If you want to "achieve my goals as a blues player." you certainly have come to the right place. You definitely have the equipment to get going, the collection that would be the envy of a lot of people starting out. You've got the single coils and humbuckers guitars covered and nice amps and pedals.

Now just get to practicing and let us know from time to time how you are progressing.

Welcome Ron. My short journey as a player has been greatly accelerated by Griff's teachings, and a whole lot of fun to boot. I'm sure BGU will get you to where you want to be as a Blues player.
I love the Fender Ultra series. I have the Telecaster Ultra, Ash body, maple neck, Blonde. Love the way it feels. It really inspires me to want to play and I hope one day to be able to do it justice.
Enjoy your journey.

Welcome to the forum Ron, I'm glad you found us.
California born and raised myself and seldom get farther east than the Dakotas.
Hope all is well on your coast and you get all your money's worth and more (I 100% certain you will) from BGU and AAP.
