This is my first effort at video and recording. I would not let others see this if were not for my friend Russ. I see how this helped him so I am jumping in. Thanks Russ.

LuckyLarry1,
Please go into the Video Manager Tab and switch your video to UNLISTED. You currently have it set on Private which prevents the rest of us from seeing it. Unless you just want to wait and edit the video together with your final effort.

Like I've said before, don't start all the way over from C when you make a mistake, like I did  :p . Not that I saw anything (see first paragraph), just friendly reminder.

NICELY DONE   [smiley=thumbsup.gif] ! No wonder why Griff says 5 minutes a day will get you there. Don't use the metronome until C is "old hat". If you're anything like me, you'll allow the old "nome" to put undo stress on you. Almost humorous how a little tick can make you forget things.

Playin' for the fun of it.
Good one Larry I like these video progress clips that Russ has pioneered. I'll be watching with interest.  :)

I agree ! They are very motivating , to see that it´s not only me with difficulties to progress...for me it´s an example to folow...
By the way , i´m in "Down To the Station " and i can almost play it in slow speed . I`ve the sensation that i´ll never get the full speed, properly . Should i go forward , learning another stuff , or should insist in that song ? People with more experience (if it could be Griff-great!) "help" me  :-/ .
Thanks

Goncalo,

It often helps me to "walk away" from a lesson for a day or two if I can't get the progress I want. Make certain you are counting out loud and keeping up with your counting speed. Forget about the play along track until you can get through the practice and count everything. It may help you to intentionally get side tracked with Circle of 5th practice or do some licks or speed exercises, ect.. Perhaps my method will help you, too. Like I said, just don't concentrate so hard on it for a day or two. Come back and I'm betting you'll do better.

I'll tell you the same thing I told Russ "you're a better man than I am." You'll never catch me in front of a camera. Awesome job.....keep up the great work!!!

I'm repeating here what I just posted over at your video on youtube:

Onya Larry! Learning the notes on the fretboard is one major and relatively tedious task that I've been putting off; I KNOW how to find 'em using 'CAGED' but haven't yet learned to KNOW exactly where each note is ahead of time, so to speak!

But you've inspired me to grit my teeth and get on with it! Thanks mate! Keep on plucking!

A tiny suggestion: when you're playing the 'example' of each note, try to make it a whole note and give the note its full value; set metronome at 60 bpm; & keep time.

Good points Dave. Now go and learn these with me.  [smiley=beer.gif]

Will do Larry! Starting tomorrow!

(Nah... Honestly! I've just finished practicing with my drummer and I'm knackered right now; tomorrow's soon enough!)
