Thanks Dom. My girlfriend never saw the movie Crossroads. I bought it and she loved it. I'll rent this one.

It Might Get Loud! I saw it last week and posted my recommendation that everyone should take a look.

My wife also enjoyed crossroads, but she wasn't crazy about "It's going ti get loud" cause it's a documentary.

I was really looking forward to it, but I turned it off less than half way through. I have never been a U-2 fan and I find Edge's style uninspiring. While I found Jack White's ideas about music interesting I dislike his music. I realized the ony reason I was watching was Jimmy Page and I got tried of fast forwarding throught the rest.

I watched the movie last night. It was nice seeing Page but, I thought Jack White was the most interesting.

I enjoyed the movie, but the best part may have been discovering Link Ray. During the movie, Page played a record by Link Ray, "Rumble", as an example of one of his early influences and the attitude he wanted to capture in his own playing. Though I recongnized "Rumble", I was not familiar with Link Ray. My wife immediately went out and ordered "The Best of Link Ray" from Amazon. It arrived over the weekend, and I was blown away. This guy was playing ferocious distorted guitar back in the fifties. People say he invented the power cord. I don't know if that true or not, but after listening to the CD, I have no doubt that this guy showed others how to play distorted rock guitar. Evidently, he was a big influence on Paige, Townsend, Clapton and many others. If you get a chance, you should check him out.

I watched this last night and enjoyed it.  Great movie?  No, but as an aspiring musician I got pretty engrossed in the whole thing.  I really knew nothing about Jack White and not a fan of his music at all, but loved some of his thoughts and ideas about music.   Loved that fact that he played with crap guitars and discovered their individual voices.

I thought the most revealing part was when Edge is in his studio playing one of his "huge riffs" and then he clicks off all his effects and shows that he is playing something real simple which is way boring without all the distortion.

Not a huge U2 fan but I think Edge is a talented guy and thought he was the most entertaining part overall.
