Hello from Bavaria

PeterSchroeder

Munich, Germany
Good evening ! Just joined yesterday, bought BBG but haven‘t really started the course. En route to southern France now, got a guitar with me because I don‘t go anywhere without it since I started in April. Learning to play the guitar was my doc‘s suggestion after being on the brink of a burnout, and it works. Did a 12 week electric guitar online course from a very experienced German instructor before I came here. Blues is it for me, same as Blues Rock and Hard Rock. Went for BBG since I really struggle with chords and thought BGU might be a bit too tough for me...

Some more information about me - I was born and raised in Munich, Germany and with a short period of living nearer to the mountains always lived there and still do. I am 52, married, got two children and work as an IT system architect for an air/spacecraft company. Before I started playing the guitar I spent most of my free time ( which is kind of limited by job and family) doing sports like cycling (road and mountain), whitewater kayaking and other outdoor stuff.

As starter gear I bought a second hand Epiphone SG and a small Fender Mustang amp. Recently I added a Squier Strat which I use for travel now. Love both, the Strat is much better balanced and lighter, and got a more brilliant sound , whereas my SG is the tool of choice for Rock stuff and simply feels awesome....

Hi and welcome from one of the UK mob, great bunch of guys on here with plenty of advice and encouragement so make yourself at home. We are having the annual UK BGU blues weekend on 9/10th November we have visitors from Europe as well :) some links to this years and previous events as well. I was nervous going to my first one but everyone made me feel at ease, it's now a regular date in my diary.
