I started practicing Hammer-Ons and Pull-Offs with my acoustic work out while finger picking different finger patterns. It started because I was having a hard time getting Classical Gas to sound right , but now I think Iâll make it permanent . Its my opinion and experience that it takes more strength to make acoustic strings sound good because theyâre thicker and donât have the whole electric back up etc.. It takes more accuracy and speed to Hammer-on acoustic strings. Iâve been trying it with all the finger picking patterns that Iâm half good at and I must say, its kinda startinâ to sound cool ⦠ Iâve been doing the Hammer or Pull with my left index when I change chords. Once I get to thinking it sounds really good, Iâm going to try to start the other fingers. I feel a spark of happiness and dare I say⦠;D⦠satisfaction when I do this, so I wonât be changing any time soon. Here are some patterns that come to mind at the moment.
Picking Patterns:
4 3 4 3 Â 4231 Â Â 53423412 Â Boom Chuck 54 64 54 64
1 2 3 2
I have learned other ptterns, but haven't kept up with them since getting BGU/BBG.
Also, I'm not good at the Boom Chuck, yet.
