@Norfolk Bill started a thread on Paul Rose, and I ended up browsing through loads of videos. He's quite a mean player.

I’ve got a Bm track with your name on it. You can do this, I have faith in you. Make sure you get the tuning while playing part incorporated not your solo.

I was on another guitar forum probably 15-20 years ago and they had a bunch of UK members and one of them turned me on to him

I don't know about using hair and tats as criteria. I have long hair and a tattoo and I positively cannot play those licks.
