Full Out Blues (slowly - and uninterestingly). Feel free to move on.

Boring recording alert! I’m posting because I promised myself that I would before moving on, but it’s S-L-O-W. I recorded all day trying to get a faster version with no mistakes. In the end I slowed it down to complete it, so here it is to click on and listen (but not required).

My wins:
  • I thought I’d never get the change between the B7 and E7. The brain is an amazing.
  • I have never enjoyed memorizing music - but I learned if I play it enough, it happens. (take that younger self!)
  • I worked on call and response as recommended by @Elio (it doesn’t come across in recording #2,432 from today, but it was fun to add!)
  • I changed my pick and the way I hold it after last week’s fix it. Thanks @Griff! I sound better. With my strumming hand stabilized on the guitar I think I find the strings better. But it will take a few weeks to unlearn hovering.
  • I'm also following @Elwood's suggestion to use Garage Band. I'm currently overwhelmed by trying to find great sounds, and how to adjust them - and have decided to use presets even if I don't care for them. Choosing ease over what I want to hear. New things are hard! But I persist.
I’m beyond thrilled to be moving on after three weeks.

It's all blues
That was actually very good. You seemed in time with my tapping foot and you're hitting all the notes. Now, keeping playing this every time you pick up a guitar and before long you'll play it without thinking and much faster. These are the kinds of licks you play all your life and you'll own it.

On to the next one.

Thank you! I was playing it faster earlier today without recording. But it is a big win to have two songs under my belt now. If I want to test a guitar at a shop, I now have things to play - only two, but who will know?!

It sounds like you already have it memorized, so getting it faster will come quickly. Well done!

Lovin’ the journey of life and the blues
That was really good. Your tone and timing were great and the recording sounded really good. IMO it’s never boring if you’re having fun doing it. It’s all about the journey.
