I thought you did a great job playing that and an excellent job recording too!

What are you using to record?

audacity on a laptop
PreSonus Audiobox USB (2 in/ 2 out)
Roland microCube amp (several amp models and effects)

I mic the amp. I don't have a direct USB interface to the amp like some of the newer ones have.

For those recordings- acoustic has a pickup and I played through the amp with a Clean model and a little reverb.

Electric was a LP style copy and Brit Combo model with a little grit and reverb.

For lessons I mix the guitar fairly high relative to the backing track because that's what I want to hear.

Forgot to  mention- since I'm micing the room, if I'm playing with a backing track I monitor that in in earbud and play along.

Nice one David and that's cool doing two recordings because I find that when you get a piece down with the electric the acoustic is often more of a challenge. So well done.  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
