Had an impromptu jam with my boy the other night, who never plays, and I resent his talent for dropping right in there. I know I shouldn't but I do. It's only right we piss each other off sometimes. Anyway he's blasting away on his strat through the the trusty old MIIIV1 and I'm playing my EPI LP modded (thread somewhere) and feeling like I need to do a pickup height adjustment 'cuz I'm feeling the mud? Anyway I'm on the DrZ galaxie and she's notorious for for the interaction between the tone/presence interaction so went radical on the knob twisting and got new love for the guit and the amp. Point being, Maybe do some radical knob twisting before you get the soldering iron out? I was quite dumbfounded...

Good point!
I'm as guilty as the next guy, buying pedals and effects of all sorts when I should really pay more attention to just learning to dial in my guitar/amp.

Best to dial in with your ears and not your eyes, too. Never know when some crazy (seemingly) setting will sound great to your ears.
