For me this was the most difficult solo I’ve done of all Griff’s solos in any course I’ve done. And I’ve done quite a few.

Here’s why. (Just a heads up for when you get to it.)
Each lick comes in either just before or after beat 4.
Lick 1 comes in on beat 1 along with the rhythm section as expected, but Lick 2 & 4 come in on the ah of 3 e and ah and Lick 3 come in on the e of 4 e and ah.
So you are starting each lick moving into D ahead of the Chords and bass which are still playing G on beat 4.
In other words, for licks 2,3 &4 you are actually thinking G D C, while the rhythm is playing D C G.
Or in other, other words you are 1 beat ahead of or out of phase with the rhythm section changes.
Or in other, other, other words, every lick starts with a "pick-up".
Usually I listen for the bass and stay with it or just behind it. But in this case you are always ahead of the change. I'm used to not starting on the 1, waiting for it to "pass me by".
And the bass is really prominent in this solo. So if you wait for it, like I originally did, you’ll always come in late (as I originally did).
So getting up to full speed I feel like I’m rushing the beat and maybe still don’t have it quite right. But I’m close.
(And, maybe since the solo is short and quick you wouldn't have noticed it anyway.)
